"Intriguing regardless of one's degree of familiarity with the facts...it's an important tribute to an under-appreciated man.” Jennie Kermode, Eye For Film
A highly acclaimed account of one of post war Germany's most notorious episodes. The year is 1957 and Attorney General Fritz Bauer, has been trying to take crimes and the criminals of the Third Reich to justice since his return from exile in Denmark. Receiving evidence that Adolf Eichmann is allegedly hiding out in Buenos Aires, and having no success with the fierce German determination to suppress its sinister past, adding to his distrust of the German judicial system, Bauer contacts the Israeli secret service to enlist their help. Although considered treasonous, his is not an act of revenge, but one of concern for Germany's future.
German. Rated R. Running time 105 mins.
Hosted by Shelly Isaacs who will introduce the film and lead a post-screening discussion.
