AVENTURA, Fla. (December 8, 2021) – The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center rings in the New Year with an array of musical performances, a Broadway concert and an award-winning international film. 

The City of Aventura presents DIVAS3 on Sunday, January 2 at 2 and 7:00 p.m. This vibrant show features three beautiful female singers with perfectly blended powerhouse vocals backed by a four-piece band. The concert celebrates some of the greatest divas in pop music history, featuring songs from the ‘60s through the ‘90s with hits by Aretha Franklin, Carole King, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Cher, Dolly Parton, Donna Summer, ABBA and more. Individual members of the group have starred in shows on the Las Vegas Strip and appeared on NBC’s The Voice, The Winner Is, and FOX’s American Idol. Tickets are $45-$49. 

The Aventura International Film Series continues with Dear Comrades! on Tuesday, January 4 at 7:30 p.m. Named as one of the Top Five Foreign Films in 2021 by the National Board of Review in the U.S. and winner of the Special Jury Prize for director Andrey Konchalovskiy at the Venice Film Festival, Dear Comrades! has received more than two dozen nominations and awards at prestigious film festivals around the world. A devout party activist has her world view shaken when the communist government brutally cracks down on a strike by rebellious workers and her daughter goes missing. Not rated, this film is presented in Russian with English subtitles and is not suitable for children under 12. The Aventura International Film Series presented by the City of Aventura is hosted by Shelly Isaacs who introduces the film and leads a post-screening discussion. Tickets are $12.

Black Box Productions’ Stand Up Comedy Series presents Vic DiBitetto on Friday, January 7 at 8 p.m. Known as the “Italian Hurricane” for his frenetic pace, DiBitetto holds no hostages and says what others are thinking but are afraid to say out loud, With over 500 million video views worldwide and 1.2 million followers on social media, DiBitetto has created numerous viral video characters such as Tony Gaga, That Guy, Frankie Pentangelli, and Ticked Off Vic. His Yankee and Giant locker room satires are now legendary while his Bread and Milk video, like a Christmas carol, is played yearly around the world. This performance is not appropriate for children under 12. Tickets are $47.50- $52.50.

The City of Aventura presents Lance Lipinski and the Lovers featuring the Lovettes in Shake Baby Shake on Saturday, January 8 at 8 p.m. Lipinski gives an explosive performance showcasing the hits of the major artists of the '50s and '60s. From big band, rhythm & blues, western swing, rockabilly, doo wop, the teen idol influence, soul, surf, the British invasion and Motown, Shake Baby Shake brings back all the song styles from the birth of rock ‘n’ roll. The show also features the incredible Lovettes, honoring the girl groups and other major female artists of the time such as the Andrews Sisters, the McGuire Sisters, Lavern Baker, Connie Francis, The Ronettes, The Supremes, Etta James and more. Tickets $45 - $49. 

The Miami International Piano Festival continues with 28 year-old Russian sensation Nikolay Khozyainov, on Sunday, January 9 at 5 p.m. in Tribute to Chopin. Born in Blagoveshchensk in far eastern Russia, Khozyainov made his debut at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory at age seven in a Handel piano concerto. He won first prize at the Dublin International Piano Competition, second prize at the Sydney International Piano Competition, and was a finalist at the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition. The New York Times reported, "The Music World is taking note of Nikolay Khozyainov's stunning virtuosity and prodigious technique.” Not suggested for children under 12 years of age. Tickets are $45 - $55. 

South Florida Legends presents Tapestry: The Carole King Songbook on Thursday, January 13 at 7:30 p.m. This North America’s premier tribute to Carole King is performed by Suzanne O Davis who channels the characteristics of King at the piano while sharing the history of her blockbuster hits. Davis’ comfortable stage presence has endeared her to audiences leaving them breathless. Tickets are $55 - $65. 

Black Box productions presents Scarborough Fair: A Simon & Garfunkel Experience by the Guthrie Brotherson Friday, January 14 at 8 p.m. Singing together for as long as either one of them can remember, the brothers knew the first time they played a Simon & Garfunkel song that they had a natural and almost spiritual connection to it. The New York-based musicians have perfected a blend of harmonies with a startling authenticity in an “unplugged” acoustic style. Tickets are $47.50-$62.50. 

South Florida Legends presents Disco Divas: A Tribute to Diana Ross, The Supremes and Donna Summer on Saturday, January 15 at 2 and 8 p.m. This double feature tribute pays homage to two of the most iconic singers of our generation. The night kicks-off with the music of Donna Summer’s hits "Last Dance," "Hot Stuff," "She Works Hard for the Money," "On the Radio" and more. Then, prepare yourself for Latraia Savage, who has performed all over the world to rave reviews portraying Diana Ross, performing all the hits such as "Baby Love," "Come See About Me," "You Keep Me Hangin' On" and more. Tickets are $55-$65. 

The City of Aventura presents The Bronx Wanderers on Friday, January 21 at 8 p.m. in a trip back in time fueled by high-octane ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s rock ‘n’ roll. Back by popular demand after a sold out concert, The Bronx Wanderers taps into the infectious energy of the music that fueled classics like American Graffiti, Happy Days and A Bronx Tale. With incredible vocals and musicianship, along with a genuine love of the music they perform, the band tells the stories and songs of a generation as they recreate the magic of an era. Tickets are $60-$65. 

The City of Aventura presents Smokey & Me: A Celebration of Smokey Robinson on Sunday, January 23 at 2 and 7 p.m. Starring Charl Brown, best known for his Tony Award® nomination for his portrayal of Smokey in Motown: The Musical, this performance celebrates the life, music and career of acclaimed singer songwriter. Brown delivers all the hits including "Shop Around," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," "My Girl," "I Second that Emotion," "Oooh Baby" and "Tracks of my Tears" that once moved Bob Dylan to call Robinson America's "greatest living poet." Tickets are $47 - $52. 

Jay and the Americans take the stage on January 28 at 8 p.m. performing popular hits such as “This Magic Moment,” “Cara Mia,” “Come a Little Bit Closer,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” “Walkin’ in the Rain,” “Only in America,” “She Cried” and more. With a staggering 18 charted hits and five Top 10 records, Jay and the Americans features three original members, Sandy Deanne, Marty Sanders and Howie Kane, along with Jay Reincke, the powerhouse lead vocalist who has fronted the group for the past 13 years. Tickets are $60-$65. 

Black Box Productions presents The Everly Brothers Experience on Saturday, January 29 at 8 p.m. Starring the Zmed Brothers this performance celebrates the pivotal music and history of The Everly Brothers’ legacy. The talented duo honors both the aesthetics of this iconic sound and the important role the Everly Brothers pioneered the rock n' roll movement. The sons of singer/dancer/actor Adrian Zmed and a second-grade teacher, the brothers continuously strive to pay homage to their personal roots by infusing an instinctual blend of entertainment and contextual education in their performance. Tickets are $45-$65. 

The 2022 Aventura Broadway Concert Series kicks-off with Tony Award nominee, television and film star Norm Lewis on Sunday, January 30 at 7 p.m. Lewis brings his glorious voice and ineffable charm and warmth back to his home state of Florida in an evening filled with the songs from roles that have brought him critical acclaim as he put his unique take on musical theater standards. Heralded by The New York Times as “among the most reliably impressive voices on Broadway,” Lewis has starred in Phantom Of The Opera, Les Misérables, Porgy & Bess, The Little Mermaid and more. Tickets are $52-$77. 

Aventura Arts & Cultural Center has implemented a number of changes to ensure an enjoyable experience. Health & safety guidelines have been developed in conjunction with its management company, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic and have been informed by guidance of public health officials including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These guidelines will be continuing to evolve as the environment changes, and may be accessed on the venue’s website.
