Summer Theater Camp 2024

SUMMER THEATER CAMP RETURNS

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts and The Performance Project School of the Arts, welcome you to Summer Theater Camp 2024! Two sessions of camp are available at Broward Center in Fort Lauderdale, Aventura Arts & Cultural Center in Aventura and the Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center at Nova Southeastern University in Davie.

See old friends and make news ones, be taught by professional performing arts teachers, and have fun putting on an amazing show on the Amaturo stage. The camp offers students the chance to study singing, dancing and acting while rehearsing for a theatrical production culminating in a final performance on stage at the Broward Center. As part of enrollment, each camper will receive a Summer Theater Camp 2024 T-Shirt and cast photo.

Session 1: June 24 - July 19             Session 1 Camp Fee: $975 per session

Session 2: July 22 - Aug 14*              Session 2 Camp Fee: $877.50

*Session 2 camp dates, Aug 15 & 16, are available for an additional fee. This option may be selected at time of enrollment.

  • $300 non-refundable deposit required. Deposit is applied toward camp price.
  • Register by March 15 and receive a $100 Early Bird discount.

  • All shows and dates are subject to change. All sales are final. There are no refunds or credit issued for withdrawals or cancellation of participation.

  • Space is limited.

SUMMER CAMP SHOWS

SESSION 1

ALADDIN KIDS - GROUP A
Your wish is granted. Experience the Academy Award-winning adventure of the street rat who became a prince! Based on the iconic 1992 animated film, with an Academy Award-winning score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, Disney’s Aladdin KIDS is sure to send audiences soaring on a flying carpet ride filled with romance and adventure.

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL JR. - GROUP B
Harvard's beloved blonde takes the stage by glittery pink storm in this fun and upbeat adaptation of the hit film and award-winning Broadway musical. Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the smash hit motion picture, Legally Blonde The Musical JR. is a fabulously fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons. The show's instantly recognizable songs are filled with humor, wit and sass — leaving cast members and audiences alike seeing pink!

SESSION 2

101 DALMATIANS KIDS - GROUP A
Keep your pups on their leashes! Based on the classic animated film, Disney's 101 Dalmatians KIDS is a fur-raising adventure featuring Cruella De Vil, Disney's most outrageous villain, and 101 of the most adorable and courageous heroes to set their paws onstage. With a high-spirited score and lovable characters, this stage adaptation is certain to charm and delight all audiences.

NEWSIES JR. - GROUP B
Seize the Day with Disney’s rousing musical that has thrilled and inspired young people for generations. Disney's Newsies JR. is a 60-minute version of the 2012 Broadway musical, based on the 1992 film. Inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies JR. features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Including the now-classic songs "Carrying the Banner," "Seize the Day," and "Santa Fe," Newsies JR. is a timeless story full of spirit and heart.

Following a career as a professional actress, Nina Felice founded The Performance Project School of the Arts to nurture young talent and encourage the pursuit of their creative dreams. With a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and a master’s degree in Child/Family Psychology, Nina incorporates the two disciplines into her teaching techniques to guide and motivate young performers.

What are the current office hours?

Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The Education Office is not open for visitors at this time. You may contact the Education Office at 954-468-2869.

What happens if camp is sold out and I am on the waitlist?

If a space becomes available, you will be contacted by a Broward Center education staff member to register within 48 hours of notice. If we do not hear back from you within this time period, we will move on to the next person on the waitlist.
